Hey there, Reader! Have you listened to today's new episode on the School of Midlife podcast? I listened to it on my walk this morning. There's a line in this week's episode that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. My dad worked for 46 years. He said "someday when I retire" so many times that I would have been financially set myself if I'd had a dollar for every time I heard it. He had plans. Real ones. Europe. Fishing. Golf. Garage band. The whole thing. But then he died five months after he retired. Five months after he turned 66...because he wanted to max out his Social Security checks. And in the end, he collected just five of those Social Security checks. That story changed everything for me. And honestly, my Dad's story is why I live my life the way I do. I didn't always, but Dad dying at 66 changed my perspective on a lot of things. And it's the reason this week's episode exists. Because here's what I've come to believe after years of working with high-achieving women: the real midlife crisis isn't running out of time. It's living like you have more time than you actually do. We tell ourselves someday. Someday when the kids are older. When work slows down. When the savings account hits the right number. When the timing is finally, perfectly right. But here's the thing: it never is. There's always at least one more reason to wait. This episode is about what happens when you stop waiting. I also introduce one of my favorite coaching tools, the BEST LIFE™ Top 100. Not a bucket list. Something completely different. Something that might surprise you.
And...there's a challenge at the end of the episode. I'd love for you to take me up on it. xx, Laurie P.S. At the end of the episode I ask you to write down one thing — just one! — and send it to me. You can reply to this email, or DM me on Instagram. I genuinely want to know what it is. |

Hey there, Reader! Surprised to see me on a Monday? I'll bet! It's by design. Let me explain. I want you to treat your life as the most important thing you do -- the same way you treat your kids, your family, your career. You wouldn't shoe-horn time in for them over the weekend; right? You also wouldn't relegate them to Sunday morning, in between everything else. Which is why the BEST LIFE List is no longer dropping on Sundays. A little backstory: when I started the Sunday newsletter,...
Hey there, Reader! Have you listened to today's new episode of The School of Midlife? I recorded this one with Brooke Amidei, founder of Babble, a free weekly newsletter that's basically the group chat every midlife woman wishes she had. I loved this conversation! About forty minutes in, we ended up somewhere I did not expect. We started talking about basic doctor stuff -- bone density scans, mammograms, that list -- and I told her about my own recent breast MRI. High risk, dense breasts, the...
I want to share something with you today, Reader. 💛 This is from a woman who attended a BEST LIFE Retreat in Sun Valley. She came not knowing exactly what to expect. She left with something she hadn't anticipated. I'll let her tell you: "Attending Laurie's BEST LIFE Retreat in Sun Valley was truly life-changing. I had never done anything like it before, and it exceeded every expectation. The experience gave me the opportunity to pause, reflect, and really think intentionally about how I want...
