I want to paint you a picture. It's September. The air is different. You know the feeling...that back-to-school energy that shows up every year, regardless of whether you're the one actually going back to school. There's something in the atmosphere in September that says: Okay, time to get serious. In this picture, there are two versions of you. Version A: You're looking at the calendar and realizing that the end of 2026 will be here before you know it. There is still so much you were hoping to accomplish this year — schedule the girls' trip, finish remodeling the guest bathroom, lose those 15 pounds you've been trying to shed for a while now, get back to the gym, finally read the stack of books on your nightstand, call your college roommate back (it's been three months), and do something about the fact that your closet looks like it's being organized by someone who gave up halfway through. So much to do, so little time. And that doesn't include all of the projects at work that need to be wrapped up by the end of the year. Oh, and you still need to coordinate the family photo for the holiday cards, figure out who's hosting Thanksgiving (again), buy gifts for everyone on your list, plan the holiday party, and somehow get through December without feeling like you just survived something. Now that you're looking at your to-do list, you realize there's no way the girls' trip is going to happen this year, you'll be lucky if the tile is completed in the guest bathroom before the end of the year, and those extra 15 pounds? We'll call it a win if the scale holds steady between now and New Year's. Same year, different calendar. Version B: You're craving settling back into a routine after a summer packed with summer goodness. (Because let's be honest...those late summer nights, although very fun, took a bit of a toll!) You are more optimistic about how this year will end, and your life going forward, than you have been in a very long time. Maybe ever. You finally know exactly what's next for you, and how to move your life in that direction. You're clear on what you want and why you want it. You know what matters most to you in this season of life. All because you kicked off September at the BEST LIFE™ Mastermind. You spent four days making decisions about your life you've been delaying — or avoiding — for years. You stopped living the same year on repeat and started making choices that actually reflect who you are now. And all those things on your to-do list? They're there because they're meaningful to you. Not out of obligation. Reader, you still have the whole summer ahead of you. Go enjoy it. Sit by the water with a good book and a cold drink. Take the long way home. Stay up too late on a Tuesday because the conversation was too good to end. Host the dinner party that goes until midnight. Do the thing you've been saying you'll do when you have a free weekend...even if that's nothing at all. Soak it up. All of it. But know that how September plays out is up to you. You can choose Version A or Version B. If you want to be someone who feels like:
"The BEST LIFE Retreat changed my life." "The retreat brought clarity to what I want next in my life." "Laurie's coaching helped me become the person I was always meant to be." That's Version B. Or you can settle for Version A, the version of you who looks at a never-ending to-do list packed with obligations and expectations and shoulds, and feels like there's never enough time to focus on yourself. The choice is up to you. But now is the time to take action, because applications for the BEST LIFE™ Mastermind close on July 31. I'd love to meet the Version B you in September. 💛 → Apply here xx, Laurie |

Hey there, Reader! Surprised to see me on a Monday? I'll bet! It's by design. Let me explain. I want you to treat your life as the most important thing you do -- the same way you treat your kids, your family, your career. You wouldn't shoe-horn time in for them over the weekend; right? You also wouldn't relegate them to Sunday morning, in between everything else. Which is why the BEST LIFE List is no longer dropping on Sundays. A little backstory: when I started the Sunday newsletter,...
Hey there, Reader! Have you listened to today's new episode of The School of Midlife? I recorded this one with Brooke Amidei, founder of Babble, a free weekly newsletter that's basically the group chat every midlife woman wishes she had. I loved this conversation! About forty minutes in, we ended up somewhere I did not expect. We started talking about basic doctor stuff -- bone density scans, mammograms, that list -- and I told her about my own recent breast MRI. High risk, dense breasts, the...
I want to share something with you today, Reader. 💛 This is from a woman who attended a BEST LIFE Retreat in Sun Valley. She came not knowing exactly what to expect. She left with something she hadn't anticipated. I'll let her tell you: "Attending Laurie's BEST LIFE Retreat in Sun Valley was truly life-changing. I had never done anything like it before, and it exceeded every expectation. The experience gave me the opportunity to pause, reflect, and really think intentionally about how I want...
